Okay so with photos like this that rapidly diffuse around the alt and/or (usually and) pseudo-intellectual blogosphere… Ah, how to explain? I CAN’T RIGHT NOW! It’s inarticulate o’clock. But just saying, this one doesn’t even make sense, you’re just knee-jerk associating with an aesthetic you think will make you look smarter, and you probably think like “ooh I’m reblogging the classics!”, but look closer - would you actually read those vintage books? Noo… They are not ‘good’ books, these are 100-year-old irrelevant non-fiction books about hunting and polo. Not only boring but totally inhumane! Just because they have that nostalgic dusty hardcover thing going on, people are like… Gah, I can’t explain this, my grasp of my current pop cultural sphere is so rudimentary atm.
Still, I kind of, sympathise. The mug approaches the truth. And who am I to talk - my current coffee mug of choice is Penguin Classics merch advertising Vag Woolf, and I haven’t even READ A Room of One’s Own! How embarrassing. It was a birthday gift, but nevertheless…
